Google released Google Earth for Android 2.1 smartphones today. Right now, that means the Nexus One since it's the only Android phone currently shipping with that shiny new OS.
Google Earth is both impressive and demanding, and we were wondering how well it would run on Google's self-proclaimed superphone. Thanks to the 1GHz CPU, a decent T-Mobile 3G data connection and some good coding on Google's part, it runs incredibly well. You can pan, pinch-zoom, see various POIs via layers and more. Well worth a look, especially since you Droid owners and others will be getting the 2.1 OS.
