Panasonic today has announced the new Toughbook convertible tablet PC running Windows 7 or Windows XP if you really must stay a slave to the past. The C1 is a business rugged tablet and that means it looks kinda cool and isn't the military beast that scares away small children. Panasonic claims it's the lightest convertible tablet but they got that copy ready before Lenovo let the ThinkPad X201t out of the bag, and they're pretty much a tie at 3.2 lbs.
The Toughbook C1 rocks with an Intel Core i5-520 CPU running at 2.4GHz and a dual digitizer that supports multi-touch and the EMR pen for precision. Battery life is supposed to be 5 hours with a single battery and 10 hours with two batteries (2 batteries raises the weight to 3.7 lbs.).
