Reset on the back fixes it - but anyone know what causes it. The unit is less than a day old.
Thx

This could be just a generic error. Don't see it on our units though. Has any of you contacted PalmOne Support?

I have a Palm Tungsten C and I am seeing the same problem every single time I try to browse to any website using the wireless connection
Fatal Alert
MemoryMgr.c, Line:3654, Free handle
It was working for about 8 months until a couple of weeks ago. Any ideas?

I have updated the Tungsten C to the latest code 2.0 available at:
http://www.palmone.com/us/support/downloads/tungstenc/tungstenc_update_20.html
and it fixed the problem.

I have the same problem on my Tungsten C now when browsing. Unfortunately, calling Palm support is not a real option as they don't speak English and u can only understand about 1/2 of waht they say but they don't really have any solution for any problems and will not let u talk to level 2 support as it affects their ratings and bonuses. Palm has sent all support offshore to India and until they bring it back to the US , like Dell is planning, we can all expect extremely poor support for these type of issues. For instance I was on the phone with them for 2 hours for a versamial issue and they would not let me talk to a lev 2 . Blamed everything on my ISP even tho I told them that we have 100 users doing the POP3 thing with no problem. They then refused gave me a bogus phone # to call in the US. It was for Palm internet services support which I don't have. i have trtied the update and will try again. I am thinking of uninstalling all of the programs and re-installing.

Did you download the update and try installing it and see if that fixes the problem?

i had ( i hope "had" ) the same issue until recently...i think the solution may be to delete your "web history" in the browser...i did that and the problem has disappeared for now...i hope permanantly....seems to be a memory problem in the cache...btw does anyone know how to enlarge the cache in the browser (or automaticall delete it) so this doesn't recur....good luck

I just let my Tungsten E battery die and it forgot everything. Then, I foolishly tried to do a restore using kpilot (on Linux) (using a backup that was not completed). Now, I'm stuck with this error message and reset doesn't help. I'm staring at this error message waiting for the battery to die again so I can start over. Not even the power switch works!

I am getting the same issue with my tungsten C. I have only installed 3 applications on my unit, done the 2.0 update and found that I have to delete my web history a lot to get any kind of performance from my palm. Now, 1 month old, the palm gives me Fatal Alert MemoryMgr.c, Line:3654 Free Handle every time I browse the web. This just started, it had been working fine. Versamail works fine for me as does every other program on the C, but the web browser crash every f'n time? PALMone please fix this or someone post a fix! Do you know if we can get these units replaced? thanks, rdrzmvp@sbcglobal.net

I had two Palm devices both had the same problem, and both got fixed with updates. So in my experience, you need to keep an eye out for updates for your device and install it to fix this problem.

SOLUTION
Download a program called FileZ from Palm Source website.
Its a great piece of freeware.
This program lists all files on your system.
Delete all non-ROM based files named "Web *".
Soft reset your TC and it will clear up the issue up.
Link for download is below FYI.

I have a brand new Tungsten E. Whenever I use the search function (the magnifying glass), I get the Fatal Alert Message: Emul68KMain.c,Line:438, line 1010 exception at address 0058B320. I then have to reset. Does anyone know of a fix for this? Thanks... Gordon gbaillie@openspace.org.
