That $15 fee is disappointing. What about folks like myself that subscribed to pricey EN plans for data or the unlimited data plan which costs even more than the PDA plan. Yuck.

What pda plan are they talking about, wireless sync? This is the final insult especially since I dropped the EN plan due to the lack of features, poor IE and poor data speeds. It should be FREE period.

No it's not wireless sync (which I believe is still free with the i700 and i600) nor is it EN. It's their $50/month PDA plan which gives you unlimited data for PDA phones only (can't be used with PCMCIA wireless cards).

So please tell us more about it! Is it faster, more stable? Do you find the new IE is faster loading pages?

Thats great news. Too bad for me so far I have argued with three CS Reps and they still say its not out. The local stores are not answering the phones either. The end is near for Verizon or me, just not sure who its the end for yet.

From what I'm reading today, it seems i600 owners are in luck (well some of them). Hopefully before either your or your phone expire the i700 upgrade with be out, PPCMD.

The do need a cable to connect thier PC to your phone. I believe your own cradle would even work.

The news continues to be encouraging, but last night I talked to two stores, one had the software, but not cable, the other said sorry its 1 minute to closing and hung up, this was after I tried for 45 minutes to get someone to answer their phone.
I also called Data Tech Support and they had not a clue. Everything is screaming Monday, but in my area it may just not happen. I will keep my I700 until the next best comes along (MPx) and then sell my I700, and let Verizon have my backup voice service. Too little too late. Rude CS reps too.

I went to the Verizon Store (Erie Blvd) in Syracuse and they udpated my I700 in 15 minutes. Works fine, except one thing I noticed. My Safestore dropped for 5.4MB 1.46MB which I am not pleased about. I have to call Verizon on this.

I was saying the same thing. But for now my I700 is alot better and I can get some extra mileage out of it before I make my next upgrade. Don't get me wrong it won't be from Samsung and most likely not from Verizon. I will go dual phone dual carriers its that simple.
I did the Palm OS 4.x upgrade a couple years ago and I can say yeah I know what I'm doing but stuff happens and I don't like the stuff. So I went to the store, 15 minutes and it was done, no problems, no bricks, no dead phone, it just works. Very Smooth and WORTH THE WAIT.

To soft reset, press the reset button (using stylus) (not what you want in this case). To hard reset press both the reset buttun and the power button. Release them and the unit should boot up as it came from the factory, and ask you to align the screen.

I think the ROM upgrade uses some of the Safe Store area, and that's why you see the decrease.
