Entry level pda phone - what should I buy?
      #11238 - 05/23/04 05:29 PM

I'm looking for a pda phone with the following features.

1. Ability to make calls in us and europe (which I think means I need a triband phone)
2. Address book/calendar/notes
3. Ability to sync address book/calendar/notes easily with MS outlook on my laptop

other features which are desirable but not strictly necessary are:

4. web browsing
5. ability to send/receive emails.

I'm not particularly interested in having mp3, a vga camera or any other flash features.

What are my best options?

Any Smartphone can do items 2 through 5 on your list.

For US and Europe you will want a GSM triband phone. Perhaps even a quad band phone if you use Cingular or AT&T since they've started using the 850MHz band in the US. However, there are no quad band smartphones out yet. The US uses 1900MHz (with some 850 recently added as mentioned), and Europe uses the 900MHz band.
