buying new pda- suggestions welcome!

Hi- my compaq ipaq 3670 just stopped syncing after 2.5 years. HP wants $150 to fix it, so I am back on the market for a new one. Looking for a PDA with the following features:

1) bright, color screen
2) great calendar/contact functionality
3) easy synchronization with outlook

that's really it. I don't plan to use this as a camera or an mp3 player. Thinking about TungstenE, Sony TJ27, Ipaq 1945. Should I be looking at any others? The Zire?

Suggestions welcome! THANKS!

Those would be the most likely candidates for affordable PDAs. Note that the Sony Clie TJ27 screen is dimmer than the Tungsten E and iPAQ 1945.

Hi,

I just went through the same thing when my Visor Edge died after 3 years. I chose the E, although I will admit that I almost bought a Viewsonic V37-2 instead after reading all of the problems being reported on a number of forums. The main reason I stuck with Palm was because it was the same OS -- I could have synched my Contact and Calendar stuff with any PDA, but I had other things that I wanted to keep also. For you, it's the opposite, since you're on the Windows side of the fence right now.

I've had my E for over a week now, and so far, so good -- bright screen, good synching with Outlook, etc. -- I hated Graffiti2 at first (after 3 years of Graffiti), but it hasn't taken me too long to get used to it . . .

Good luck!

Regards,
Greg
