Kyocera 7135 bad key response?
      #13064 - 07/08/04 05:10 PM

i was thinking about getting the kyocera 7135 then i heard it has slow key response. Can anyone verify this? Would this effect games you download because if the keys dont register right away that would make games impossible to play. I read numerous reviews and they all said slow key response. Would Samsung i600 be the better way to go kyocera really has that bad of key response? Please respond

When dialing numbers, there is sometimes a slight delay before the number you've pressed is registered. I use Afterburner overclocking software which solves the the problem (overclocked to 42MHz).

It shouldn't affect games since those are Palm OS games that rely on the standard Palm buttons (directional navigator and application buttons). They don't use the number pad, unlike games for non-smartphones.

I installed Afterburner 3.2 recently. I just got the 7135 and have been slowly adding more progams. I just took 2 years off from Palm (was on company PPC). I experienced some lock-ups after installing Afterburner (my first one lockups with the phone after 3 weeks of usage) so I slowly backed off on settings. I now have only slow Mpx and adjust ticks checked. My LClk/2 is 24MHZ. I have Beyond Contacts components, HourzPro clocked at 43 and have had no lockups for days.

I'm running X-Master - the only hacks are Pop and Fitaly Stamp in addition to afterburner.

How do you have afterburner set?

Thanks,

One my Kyo, I had AfterBurner set to a clock speed of 42MHz and told it to not overclock the phone apps (to avoid things like making the ringers shift to a higher pitch). It worked well for me for the year that I had the phone- and never a crash!
