hotsync help
      #13798 - 07/27/04 11:51 PM

Hey. I'm a newbie. I just bought a Zire 72 to replace my dead 71 (girlfriend stepped on it). The 71 didn't sync after it got mushed, and I assumed it was because of the damage. However, I plugged my new 72 in today and it won't sync either. Error reads: "The connection between your handheld computer and the desktop could not be established. Please check your setup and try again." Did that. Connecting throught local USB. Comm ports are all ok. Uninstalled/reinstalled palm desktop. Ran USBRegClean. Check all settings 3 times, and nada. What am I doing wrong? Surely this machine wants to hotsync, and my comp just isn't letting it. What are my options, and has anyone had this problem with OS5 palms? I found lots of mentions for Palm IIIs, but nothing on OS5 so far. Warm reset didn't work either.

Thanks,
Stantrb

You sure have tried many of thethings I would in order to get it syncing. What OS is your computer running? Are you plugging it directly into the PC's USB port or a hub? (Try directly into the PC's port, and try a different USB port if you have one available).
