We are a nonprofit doing neighborhood parcel surveys using PDAs, and need to buy a half a dozen more PDAs. We need the Palm OS, and need to be able to see the display on sunny days. Am I correct that I a trans reflective display is what I want?? We would like a giant battery life too, as we send these things out in the field for a couple of days. Any suggestions?

Of current display technologies, transflective is the best bet, though they are still better indoors than out. The current Palms do look quite good outdoors.
If you need several days of battery life, a car charger (assuming your folks are driving around) might be a good idea. Current Palms will give you about 8 hours of actual use on a charge (except the T3 which gets less).
