HP iPaq 47xx
      #14511 - 08/18/04 12:52 AM

I was debating between an HP 4150 and the Dell X30, either of which I would get with a wireless bluetooth keyboard (this one: http://www.thinkoutside.com/products/stowaway-bt.html) but then I saw the new HP iPAQ hx4705 on their website.

I liked the looks of the HP 4150, but I liked how the Dell X30 had the SE version of Windows and a faster processor, but then then the 4700 series had both! My questions are:

1) do new PDA series usually come with problems?
2) if I got the HP 4150, could I upgrade to Windows 2003 SE like I do on my home PC?
3) will the bluetooth keyboard still work, even tho it's not listed officially as being compadible?

1) New PDAs don't generally have more problems.

2) Surprisingly, HP has said they won't offer an SE upgrade for pre-SE models like the 4150.

3) The Bluetooth keyboard should work.

The 4700 has now been delayed until Sept. 9th. It seems LCD displays are in short supply for the 4700. Keep in mind that the 4700 is quite a bit more expensive than the other two models you're considering, largely due to the 4700's VGA display.

Standard QVGA Pocket PC displays and VGA Pocket PC displays use the same technology: 65k colors and a transflective LCD. VGA displays do have to support higher dot pitch and will show more stuff on screen if you're running a VGA app.
