I am a long-time Palm user who is considering shifting to the Pocket Pc/Windows CE platform. (I have read the article on this site about how to transfer data back and forth.) I have not seen any mention of how to transfer Memos on the Palm to the Pocket PC. I do not see any functions on Windows Outlook that are comparable to the Memo function on the Palm. For example, many of my memos are quite long and would not fit in the Outlook "Sticky Note." I use my memos quite often. For me, they are like a portable free form data bank for all sorts of information that I need to access and cannot memorize. To illustrate, I have one memo where I jot names of books I might like to read. This is very handy to have when I visit a library. I like the way the Palm allows me to keep these under one heading (e.g., "Books") so I can construct a long running list.
It's simple, but a bit time consuming. Just sync all the memos to the Palm Desktop. On the desktop, highlight all the text in each memo and copy the text into MS Word and save. Pocket Word will read the Word documents and render them OK since they are only text. If you have a lot of memos, it will take a while to copy all the text to Word documents, but you'll have your memos ready to use on your PPC.
