PDA for specialized purpose
      #14949 - 08/31/04 03:06 PM

I'm shopping for a PDA for an experimental health monitoring device project. In order to work, the PDA must:
1) be inexpensive, preferrably not more than $100
2) be small enough to fit comfortably in a pocket
3) have an external microphone jack
4) have a way to upload/download data to/from a PC
5) be programmable -- either C/C++ or Java are fine
Any suggestions? Thanks much.

The only PDA that's currently on the market costs less than $100 is the palmOne Zire 21:

It has relative small size compared to other PDAs, can sync with PC and the OS supports Java. It doesn't however have an external mic jack.
