Okay, I?ve got a BlackBerry 7280 ? love it ? works just as advertised. Yet I can?t stomach the near $100/month I have to pay for data and voice. It?s still on 30 day trial so I can return it and get something more in my league.
Stupid question: Can I setup the sync program to sync only via the USB cable, drop my data plan and end up with a non-wireless BlackBerry?
The BlackBerry is designed to sync up with its backend server in order to provide some of the unique features like push email and account consolidation, etc. If you don't need these features, then there is no point buying a device that mainly offers these and somewhat lacking in other PIM apps. If you don't mind using sync to get your emails or use web based email clients, then get other PDAs with much cheaper data plan.
