Ipaq 1945 refurb.. Ok to get?

Sorry this post was earler accidentally posted in the wrong forum.. Thanks

Hello

I'm currently using an ancient Palm, and have decided to upgrade. My budget is around $200 so sadly I don't think I can get a new PDA, will have to get a used/refurb PDA

My spcifications for the PDA I want are that it should be color, and have Bluetooth.

I would really like a pocket PC..

Currently while hunting around I've found the following PDA's
1. HP Ipaq 1940/5 - refurb from HP - around $200
2. Tungsten T - from $150 or so
3. A few toshiba's which DONT have bluetooth - would need upgrade card.

Regarding above pda's..
1. The Ipaq 1940/5 seems really nice BUT i've seen so many reports of cracked screens that i'm afraid to buy it.
2. The tungsten T is nice but they have had digitiser problems AND they use palm not pocket PC :-(
3. The Toshiba's WOULD need an external bluetooth card.. I've seen that palm makes a SDIO card for about $30 but would this work with a Toshiba..

Basically I really want a good reliable pocket pc powered PDA which includes bluetooth or can be upgraded with a cheap card for under $200

Please give me some ideas on how to go about this.

help
thanks

The 1945 is an excellent affordable PDA and the screens really aren't that prone to cracking. If HP offers a decent warranty for a refurb, go for it!

Hello

Thank you very much for your useful answer.

My question on cracked screens came up because a lot of reviews on the net (e.g. amazon, cnet) complain about cracked screens in iPaq's

For example this thread here:
http://www.pdabuyersguide.com/ubbthreads/postlist.php?Cat=&Board=UBB18&page=0&view=expanded&sb=5&o=

At first I thought this was simply careless users but there are so many people with complaints that go "It cracked in my pocket, while on my desk, etc., I began to get a little worried.

Reason is, generally PDA's are fairly tough and can suffer some bumps - take Palm PDAs - except for the zire 71 its rare to hear of a cracked screen.

Personally i've dropped my palm a few times and it hasnt had a problem.

So do Ipaq's have weaker screens than palm's I wonder..

Thanks!
