Does a compact and durable PDA exist?
      #15396 - 09/12/04 09:16 PM

I need a PDA I can keep in my pocket. I want it to be small and come with a cover that doesn't allow buttons to be accidentally pressed. This seems like too many requirements . Does anything exist? I'm very concerned about thickness - ideally it would be even less than the 0.5" minimum I see, but if that's all there is, then I'll live with it.

So far, I can only find the Toshiba E330, which is 0.4" thick. But I don't know if it comes with a case. I haven't seen a picture of it with a flip over case, so I assume that you have to add on the screen/button cover separately, which negates its size advantage.

I seem to be leaning toward an old Handspring Visor right now .

hiyou could consider a palm zire 21? though this unit has a B/W screen and no backlight.generally palm pda's are smaller than pocket pc's.Do browse this site - they have quite a lot of useful reviews which may help you decide..

I have a Zire now. It is fairly thick (0.6") and its flimsy plastic cover allows buttons to be pressed in my pocket.

I guess I'm still leaning towards a 2-3 year old Handspring Visor Edge, unless someone else has made something that can be put in a pocket.
