We have a wireless network installed within our building now and I'm looking to make a purchase decision for the right PDA. I've been looking at the latest IPAQs but my question is this:
Would the IPAQ be able to "synch" with Outlook? How would this work? Would Pocket PC allow users to log on to the network and then configure "Pocket Outlook" to connect to Exchange similar to how we configure Outlook on Client PCs? Are there any organizations out there with "wireless Outlook" yet?

All Pocket PCs sync to Outlook on the desktop and have a Pocket version of Outlook. So you'd sync over WiFi to your desktop to get Outlook data to and from the iPAQ.

Sorry maybe I should clarify - I do understand that I use Active Synch to synch my desktop outlook through the USB connection to my PDA but how does it work on my internal wireless network? Do I configure Pocket Outlook to point to exchange server after I authenticate on the wifi LAN? The PDA doesn't go over the wiFi LAN to find my desktop PC to connect to... does it? Is there a difference between wireless LAN and just WiFi cards and does the Ipaq do both?

Yes indeed, the iPAQ goes over the LAN and looks for you PC. It identifies your PC by it's computer name which is set under Windows. It then does an ActiveSync the same was as it would over USB, but via WiFi instead.
