You mean like DivX? If so, download BetaPlayer-- it's free and works very well.

Is DivX and MP4 the same? what particular site can I download this from? thanks a lot Lisa for your reply..

MPEG4 encompasses several file formats which can be confusing. These include DivX, Quicktime and some Windows Media files. A player that can handle one won't necessarily play the other. Windows Media Player can play WMV and ASF files, BetaPlayer and PocketMVP can play DivX and so far no Pocket PC player can handle QuickTime.

I have downloaded all recommended softwares... unfortunately, nothing plays mp4s.. i saw this software created by digisoft called "PictPocket" for pocket pc... it played mp4 files but it was kinda slow compared to the P910i phone released by sony..
thanks for the help guys.... if anyone knew any software for pocket pc that can play mp4's, please post here.. thanks
