I have a friend with a PCG-NX70V. seeing it in use prompted me to buy one the other day, and I'm waiting for the WL100 to come in the mail.
My question, then is that we had a hard time setting up wireless access on his because everything had to be entered perfectly correctly. is there an update/standalone/third party software that will enable the PDA to detect a wireless network, like a wireless adapter under windows?

There are no 3rd party apps to make connections easier. However, you can try using an access point name of "auto" which will try to guess the correct settings to connect to an available access point. If you're using WEP encryption, you will still have to enter that key on the Clie however.
