looking for help what can I use a pda for

HI
Iwould like to know if I can add programs to a Pda that I have on my PC
and if I buy one with wireless technogy I can go on line or read my mail with out a new service provider like blackberry

PC software has to be ported to Pocket PC, can't run directly because it's a different OS (Windows vs. Windows Mobile).

There are several ways you can get connected, check out this article: http://www.pdabuyersguide.com/tips/wireless.htm

BlackBerry also has push technology on the backend. If you want that, you will need to get a smartphone that supports BlackBerry service or GoodLink service. Smartphones are reviewed here: http://www.pdabuyersguide.com/smartphone.htm
