We listed the titles that came as full versions on our CD. Perhaps Dell has added some titles? Did you receive full versions of those apps with your unit?

The cable alone won't do the trick. The Dell doesn't have the necessary hardware to support USB host. An Intel processor can support many features, but if the supporting chips, connectors and solder lines aren't added, then you still won't get that feature.

Yes it can connect to your home WiFi network. The instructions on how to do so are in the manual that comes with the Dell. In addition, you might want to refer to your wireless access point's manual if you run into any snags.

It probably wouldn't since the extended battery adds a good deal of thickness to the PPC.

You could get the SanDisk or Socket SD WiFi cards. Both are reviewed on our site.

320 x 240 is standard Pocket PC resolution and it is sufficient for normal PDA use. Most games are designed for that size screen at this point, so you won't gain much in terms of gaming by getting a VGA model Pocket PC just yet. Maybe in 6 months, but not now.

It should go about 5 hours with the screen turned off and wireless turned off.

I am considering both the Dell Axim X30 and X50. Do both of these have the capability to display in the landscape mode (in addition to portrait)? Is this an available setting feature?

Yes, they both run Windows Mobile 2003 Second Edition which has the ability to switch between portrait and landscape modes.

All PDAs with user replaceable batteries have a backup battery that preserves the contents of memory when you change batteries. So don't take longer than 5 minutes to swap out the battery and you're safe. I think they say you can take as long as 20 or 30 minutes, but why tempt the fates?
You do not have to hold the record button down. Press the record button to begin a recording and press the stop button to end recording. It writes pretty much in real time (there is a buffer, hence a small amount of the recording is in RAM before being written to the card).
There is no external mic input, so she'll need to use the built-in mic.

Hey, I really like the information on the site, very usefull. I've been using my dad's old Palm 3 for the last year and its about time for an upgrade. I first looked at the Palm Tungsten T series, and they looked pretty good. Untill one day I saw the HP rx 3115 at best buy and seriously started considering a PPC. It's still a little pricey for me in college about to get married in june, so I looked at comparable PPC's on the net, found this site and the review on the X30. That and my school sells the mid-0range unit for $200.
So, my questions are; (1)Is there a limit to the size of SD card used for storage? Usually reviews suggest a 128 Mb card but can you use up to the 1 Gb cards? and the second question is, (2) For the X30 mid-range's hardware specs, what is the best sd card brand/speed to get? Considering read speads/write speeds, and storage size. As a side note, I like filling all my storage for some reason. It happens.  I bought a 160 Gb HD for my computer to go with the 120 I already had, and had it filled within a week from friends. SO there will be all sorts of media and programs on my PDA. Any help would be awesome.

The mid range X30 would be a great choice and that's a very nice price. You can indeed use a 1 gig card in the X30, and even higher, though 2 gig cards are pricey. You won't need a very fast card unless you're playing on watching videos freqently. Then you'll want a card with very good read speeds. Lexar, Panasonic and ATP cards are some of the fastest and come in large capacities.
