PCMCIA modem for iPAQ 3850?
      #19303 - 02/24/05 12:30 PM

Hi there,

This started because I couldn't find any replacement cables for our existing Thinfax and Supra PCMCIA modems in the UK.

Many emails to both Companies have gone unanswered.

We have a bunch of 3850's fitted with the HP PCMCIA Jacket + extended battery and because I can't source any spare cables (and to make things easier to support) we now require new PCMCIA modem cards for dial-up access.

In the past we have used EXP Thinfax 56k and Supra 56k PC Cards but cannot source these any more - we are in the UK.

Does anyone know which PCMCIA modem card would be suitable for the iPAQ3850/PCMCIA Jacket?

Both of those previous cards were recognised automatically and the drivers loaded with no problem.

I am guessing those particular drivers were included in Pocket PC 2002 that we run on the iPAQ's?

Does anyone know what other modems are supported in PPC2002 or which PCMCIA cards ship with PPC2002 drivers (and that are available in the UK) please?

Thanks & regards,

Modem drivers are built into the OS, so most any card should work.
