USB differences
      #19191 - 02/15/05 04:58 AM

What should be the expected file transfer rate between the ASUS A730W (PPC) and the computer? Sometimes I feel, it is taking longer than necessary to transfer files into the CF slot in my Pocket PC.

Could it be the version of my USB? Should I upgrade to a new USB? Is there a way to check the version of my current USB?(I can't see it under control panel anywhere)

Currently, it takes me about 30 seconds to transfer a 2.74mb song to my pda. So it takes as long as 30 minutes to transfer 40 songs.

Just wondering if that is normal.

Crave the most features?
Asus all the way

That's how long it takes. PDAs generally use USB 1.1 and transfer rates aren't all that fast using ActiveSync. I'd suggest getting a card reader-- they're less than $20 and are a much faster way of transfering lots of MP3s or any other significant amount of data to a card.

I think my transfers are running exta-slow, the same transfer that took you 30 sec would take me 2.5 minutes with my rx3715.....
