Parrot Bluetooth car kit and OnStar

Howdy. Novice question. I have a '01 Chevy PU with Onstar. Never used the Onstar. Can the built in microphone be used with Bluetooth car kits that come with an external mic? Since it had onstar I can assume that there is an auto-mute function with the radio/cd player ... correct? Many thanks in advance.

Never used OnStar so can't say for sure. But the car or OnStar unit would need to have Bluetooth in order for it to work with the car kit.
