I haven;t seen any mention of the i-mate pda2k or imate jam. I'm afraid now to buy an ipaq after reading soo many posts dealing with cracked screens on the ipaqs, i'm wondering if the i-mates are sturdier?
The PDA2k is made by HTC and is code named Blue Angel. It goes under many names, including i-MATE PDA2K, Siemens SX66 (US version) and two Audivox versions for the US CDMA carriers Sprint and Verizon (also reviewed on our site). Here's our review of the Siemens SX66, which is the standard HTC Blue Angel running on GSM networks (no camera): http://www.mobiletechreview.com/siemensSX66.htm .
I've heard complains about the iPAQ 6315 in terms of stability and Bluetooth (both mostly fixed by recent ROM updates) but hadn't heard much about screens breaking. Ours lasted us 9 months with no hardware problems of any kind.
