Serial connection for DB-9 console port - terminal emulation
      #20506 - 07/10/05 09:37 PM

I tried searching on this topic but didn't find any thing specific to it. If there is an existing post then please post the link.

I am trying to figure out my options in connecting a PDA (IPaq) to a network device (i.e. router) and configuring that device. Normally I would connect a serial cable to a laptop's serial port and the router's console port (serial DB-9 port).

I have seen a couple CF cards that have DB-9 dongles. Not a cheap option because they cost at least $120 or so. I was wondering if anyone has used a synch cable with the serial/usb ends to connect to a console port. I only have the USB synch cable.

Of course, the other item I would need is a terminal emulation software like vxHpc.
