Most ISPs block sending email when the computer or PDA isn't connected to their network via a dialup or high speed DSL/cable modem connection. They do this to prevent unauthorized folks from abusing their sendmail servers but it is a pain for all us honest Joes. You could check with your ISP to see if they have an outgoing server that you can use when not connected to their network for Internet access. For example, Earthlink has a smtpauth.earthlink.net server for just such purposes.

I also had this issue with sending outgoing mail. What I did was under "Server Information" in the "Email Setup" wizard I selected "Options". Then after hitting "Next", I checked "Outgoing mail requires authentication" and now I can send outgoing mail also.
