I have the new Cingular 8125 and would like to use some IR software to control stuff line TV, DVD. I also have a iPaq which is running Nevo software for the same function. The iPaq works great. But Now I would like the same functions on my Cingular 8125. I have installed 3-4 different remote control software's but none of them work. I read something about the iPaq having a additional special CIR installed which makes it work "much better".
This still doesn't explain why my Cingular 8125 won't work at all. Note: the IR port does work fine for communicating with other PC / laptops. I have downloaded and uploaded may files using the IR. But still cann't get the IR to work as a remote. Can anyone help?!?! Some of the software I have tried (The newest Nevo, Total Remote, and others I can't remember now) None of them work. HELP!

Since the 8125 doesn't have consumer IR (a feature that's sadly disappearing from PDAs), you'd have to get pretty close to a device to control it (4 or 5 feet away tops). If it still doesn't work even at that (not terribly useful) range, then ya got me.

Yes I tried it from 0.5"~6" ft away and still not working :-(
