Hi,
I have been doing lots of research, and it has gotten me this far.
I am presently an out of contract cingular customer planning to switch to tmobile after a summer tour with which I need a phone that does alot of things, hence I need to get an unlocked version to switch later (cingluar has better coverage where I am going.

OK requirements, I need to connect my laptop (Bluetooth) I have a mac.
Want 3G because I hear it is faster. Need quad band (don't even remember why)
This is all making my choices slimmer and slimmer.
Please any suggestions!
The blackjack seems like it will do it, but it also seems to be exclusively congular, does that not matter if it is unlocked?
Then there is the palm treo 750.
Are there more choices?
Is G3 really faster..
OK, thank you in advance for any suggestions!

3G is much, much faster. keep in mind that T-Mobile in the US doesn't have 3G, but Cingular does. T-Mobile is working on adding 3G to their network later this year but on different bands than Cingular, so you'll need a phone made for T-Mo US.

You can use MissingSync from MarkSpace.com to sync a Windows Mobile device such as the Treo 750 and BlackJack to the Mac. I do this with both to sync to my Mac. You can use both as BT modems for the Mac as well (doesn't require any 3rd party software).

An unlocked BlackJack works fine on T-Mobile for voice and EDGE (2.5G) data. I'm using one on T-Mo in fact!
