Verizon Integrates Messaging into VZ Navigator Service
      #27567 - 05/09/07 11:56 AM

Verizon Wireless today introduced helpful new features on the company's VZ Navigator service. With time-saving tools like Place Messaging, a new VZ Navigator Web site (www.vznavigator.com), and the ability to synchronize searches from the Web site to VZ Navigator-capable phones, Verizon Wireless customers now have even more help to get where they are going easily and quickly - and to let others know how to get there too.

Place Messaging
With Place Messaging, a customer can send directions to others through VZ Navigator's new Messages option. For example, you?re making dinner plans and want to send the restaurant?s location to friends. If your friends have VZ Navigator, the message you sent opens up VZ Navigator on your friend?s phone, so he can navigate to the destination, map it and save it to his Favorites folder. The message will automatically be sent as a standard TXT Message to recipients with Verizon Wireless phones that do not subscribe to VZ Navigator.

VZ Navigator Web Site
With the new companion Web site for VZ Navigator (www.vznavigator.com), customers can now search for a location on their desktop or laptop, save locations in their Favorites folder and recall locations from their Recent Searches folder, all retrievable later right on their own phones. Plus, customers are able to send Place Messages from their computer to their phone, to other Verizon Wireless customers or to any e-mail address.

Synchronization
With the new synchronization feature on VZ Navigator, customers can sync their Recent Searches and Favorites folders on the VZ Navigator Web site with those folders on their VZ Navigator-capable phones. The sync feature is a snap, since the Verizon Wireless network automatically detects if folders need to be synced and asks customers if they want to perform the action now or at a later time.

Availability
VZ Navigator with the new features is available today on the Motorola V325, MOTORAZR V3c and V3m, MOTOKRZR K1m, MOTOSLVR L7c and MOTORAZR maxx Ve; LG VX8300, VX8600, VX8700, VX9400, Chocolate, The V and The enV by LG; and the Samsung SCH-u540, SCH-u620, SCH-u740 and SCH-a990. Verizon Wireless customers already using VZ Navigator on these phones can get a free upgrade that gives them access to the new features: on the phone, simply visit the getGOING or Tools on the Go shopping aisle of Get It Now, select Get New Applications, select VZ Navigator and press OK. Finally, select Free Upgrade and press OK.

Pricing
VZ Navigator is available for $9.99 for unlimited monthly access or $2.99 for one-day use on select Get It Now-enabled phones in the getGOING or Tools on the Go shopping aisle. Standard TXT Messaging rates apply for Place Messages and recipients of Place Messages must be existing Verizon Wireless customers, but they do not need to have VZ Navigator to access the message. Download charges for Get It Now applications vary and airtime charges apply when browsing, downloading and using certain applications.
