The Cingular 8525 is locked, as is Cingular's version of the Treo 750. All US carriers lock their phones. Both are easily unlocked for a fee.
Both devices have their merits and it really depends on whether you prefer the Treo's ever ready keyboad to the 8525's slde-out large keyboard.

Thank you for your reply.
I initailly went for the Treo 750 , but after reading the reviews which goes in favour of Cingular 8525, as value for money.
Now something more confusing is what is the HTN TyTN which is sold in unlocked? Do I buy the Cingular 8525 and unlock it or should I buy the TyTN.
Or should I just settle for the 8125 is that being sold unlocked? If so what would it cost?
