xv 6700 Storage Problem
      #28826 - 10/23/07 03:13 PM

XV 6700 thru Verizon, I keep getting a "storage memory is critically low" error message and it's causing me to not be able to receive emails.

This is a big problem.

I have a storage card that is not even 1/4 in use, but the main memory is saying full.

How can I fix it? When I use File Explorer to locate large files, it says there are none.

This phone is about ready to take flight, into a brick wall.

Okay, so I moved a bunch of files over to my storage card and the emails started working again. Now every internet address I try to enter says "the address is not valid, check the address and try again".

I'm just trying to go to my default home page, which is google?

Damn this thing sucks.

Now I can't open any attachments.

Can anyone help? I may have moved something that is affecting this.

Anyone? Anyone? Fry...? Fry...?

Bueller, Bueller...?

I called UT Starcomm and Verizon, no one knows what the issue is. Dude at UTSC said it may have corrupted hardware.

What a pile.

I mean, if this wasn't my 6th one, I probably wouldn't care so much....

Okay, so I guess no one can help, bummer.

I figured out on my own how to get the internet back up, now I just cannot open attachments in my emails unless I save them to my storage card first. Anyone know how to fix that?

Your 6th one? I have to say you are extremely patient! I can't think of any reason why docs wouldn't open from internal memory unless your phone is once again low on internal storage space (Office Mobile may create temp backup files in the same directory as the file you're trying to open, and if there isn't enough room it might not open them). What error message do you get when you try to open files from internal memory?

It says 'unable to display attachment'.

I have plenty of memory space now, on the device and the storage card.

I think I moved a file onto my memory card from my device and that's what's causing the issues. Once I started moving everything back (from my storage card to my device) the internet started working again and other minor quirks were corrected. The opening attachment thing is the last thing affected.

Wish I did, but I've never encountered this problem before . At this point, I'd try a hard reset to get all files back to their original location. But that does mean you'll have to re-sync your Outlook data and re-install 3rd party apps (if you've installed any).
