Nokia has released the final (not beta) version of the new OS2008 for the Nokia N800. The UI is much changed and looks fantastic. Performance overall is improved and even YouTube videos are watchable now. Definitely worth upgrading-- and you can't beat the price-- free! The upgrade file is about 134 megs in size and right now Nokia's web site is very, very slow for the download. Hopefully once demands dies down it will be easier to get this file. Otherwise there are a few mirrors on the Net for those who just can't wait.

I love my nokia n800. I went to the new OS page. It was very *slippery* to download...kept losing it. Do you get very frequent messages about *accept/reject cookies*? I get them constantly. Any suggestions? thanks

When I downloaded it, the Nokia site was so overloaded (first day of release) I had to get it from a temporary mirror instead. Their site probably does use cookies after you've entered in the N800's serial number, so check that cookies are enabled in your browser (or try a different browser if you have one installed).

hi lisa, thanks for your reply. My complaint about cookies is that I get a message *accept/reject cookies* over + over...with nearly every site I go to. It is very intrusive... like a pop up. I usually check off the boxes below the message with *ok* and *accept* Sometimes I have to *answer* several times. I think it is a *bug* But I can't find a place on the Nokia site abt this. Is there a Nokia Blog/help site?
I never did download the new OS. I'll keep trying.

Oh sorry, I don't think I understood your original question correctly. I thought you were getting the message when trying to download the updater, not when browsing using the N800 . I haven't seen that message once on my N800 running the OS2008 upgrade. You might want to check www.internettablettalk.com to see if anyone there has.
