Certainly how long the battery lasts is the big question. But why is the question of how quick the battery should be charged not included in the evaluation process. The blackjack takes 4+ hours to charge. This is way too long when you forgoet to charge over night. And I hate to carry around extra batteries.

Lithium Ion batteries generally have similar charging times relative to battery capacity. The BlackJack II does have a higher capacity battery than most phones, so it will take longer to charge (I'm assuming you're talking about the BJ II and not the original BJ). That said, ours doesn't take 4 hours, it's more like 2.5 when charging from a fairly low state. It will reach 100% more quickly if the phone is turned off during the charging process (which is true of all phones).
