Hi guys and hello, this is my first post. Just got hold of the iPaq HP 214 (it's the HP 210 in the US). Audio is very poor with high levels of hiss. I can partly stop this in TCPMP by making a preamp increase of about 100 - but this should not be necessary. There are a few other posts on the web raising the problem - anyone else had this problem or know a cure before I send it back. Many thanks.
The iPAQ 110 we reviewed had low volume audio but not excessive hiss. As far as I know, the 210 which Tanker Bob reviewed for our site doesn't have a hiss problem. When there's that much hiss, it sounds like a badly grounded audio jack on the iPAQ more than a software issue. That's my gut feeling and not from experience with the 210 particularly. I'd send it back for a replacement.
