After receiving several million requests from me personally, Apple has finally added the first season of Futurama to the iTunes Store.
Futurama, an animated comedy from Matt Groening, tells the story of a pizza delivery guy who is cryogenically frozen and then defrosted in the year 3000. Since it first appeared on Fox, the show has gained a cult following and has made appearances in comic books, on DVDs, on Comedy Central, and as my ringtone.
However, seasons 2-4 of the TV series are not yet available on iTunes. Although it is not uncommon for Apple to make different seasons of TV programs available at different times, iTunes is also still missing the first Futurama feature film, Bender's Big Score, and currently there is no indication whether iTunes will ever carry this film, or the upcoming The Beast With A Billion Backs. Here's hoping...
Each of the nine episodes can be purchased here for the standard $1.99 each, or $15.99 for the full first season.
