Hulu, a Flash-based video-on-demand service offering content from NBC Universal and others (including some episodes of The Simpsons), has announced that it is now open to the public.
Watch your favorites. Anytime. For free. Hulu offers U.S. consumers a vast selection of premium video content, on demand, free and ad-supported: full episodes of TV shows, both current and classic, full-length movies, thousands of clips, and much more. Hulu works with both Macs and PCs, but it requires a very fast Internet connection, and it currently does not offer any form of offline browsing for computers or any mobile devices.
Previously, signing up for Hulu involved submitting your e-mail to indicate interest in the beta test. Beta test invitations were eventually offered to some of the people who provided their e-mail address. However, immediate registrations are now available to the public, for free, at http://www.hulu.com.
