Psystar has announced the Open Computer, which they claim is a configuration of PC hardware capable of running unmodified OS X Leopard kernels.
The base configuration retails for $399.99 and includes a 2.2 GHz Intel Core Duo E4500 Processor and 2 GB of RAM. Psystar states that if you purchase Apple's Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard bundled with the Open Computer for an additional $155, they will pre-install it on the computer, thus providing you with a system running Mac OS X for much less than Apple's own Macs cost.
Running OS X on anything other than an Apple computer is an explicit violation of OS X's license agreement. In fact, Psystar may already be feeling the heat from Apple's legal department, since the Open Computer seems to have already been renamed from when it was briefly known as the "Open Mac." However, Psystar insists that OS X's EULA is a violation of US antitrust laws, and they therefore claim that they are prepared to defend the Open Computer in court.

Update: There is growing evidence that this company may be a hoax.
Update 2: Psystar is making efforts to prove that they are real.
Update 3: I'm not sure if anyone even cares about this anymore.
