This might just be a thing that I have to put up or (hopefully) something that can be corrected. I bought my wife an E310 about 5 years ago, and she always used to tell me that it went through power very fast. I would check it over and not see anything wrong. However a month ago, I was checking it over again, and switched it off, 4 minutes after, it switched itself on again, then 30 seconds later it switched off, then 4 minutes later on again, and this repeated all night. Does anyone know why this is happening and how to stop it. (It does this even after a factory defaults hard reset too)

If it still happens after a hard reset then it does sound like a hardware problem. That isn't the original battery is it? I'd never imagine one could last 5 years. Does the E310 do the same strange things when left plugged into power? If it's fine when plugged into AC, it's probably the battery.

What you've said has made me think more about the battery. It is not the first, the E310 does do the same when plugged into the power, however, if I change the frontlight configuration from superbright (that I have set for powered use) to the lowest setting for battery use, then the problem (although it still happens every 4 minutes) does not go through all the battery charge in one night.
