I'm a long time palm user 7 yrs. I have had a T/X since they first came out. I go through one in about a year. I have gotten three this year because they keep failing. The power button broke on one and the screen failed on the other two (would not calibrate). One of the T/X's was bad right out of the box! Has Palm abandoned the mobile market for non phone based devises? There has been no palm T/X support in quite some time and a updated model is a no show. I'm currently without a mobile device and considering to change over to windows mobile, possible the ipaq 210. Is palm going to release a upgrade to the T/X? What r your thoughts?

My goodness that's bad luck! My T|X behaved much better thankfully. It seems a lot of manufacturers are moving to producing PDA phones rather than standalone PDAs which is a shame. I haven't heard anything about a new PDA-only model from Palm.

update, I did some checking on google, I read some reviews on AmazonUK (http://www.amazon.co.uk/PALM-T-X-HANDHELD-BLUETOOTH/dp/customer-reviews/B000BKBHJM) many people have been experiencing the same problems that i have complaining that the quality of the build has fallen off. I loved my T/X when it worked! if you have a older one working, treat it right. Please let me hear your thoughts

If quality control is a concern for the T|X thes days, then it's worth looking at the iPAQ. HP's quality control has a pretty good rep and the 210 is a sweet machine (esp. the VGA display), though it is just a bit bulkier than the T|X. I'd give it a try from a place that offers a 14 or 30 day return policy so you can see if the OS platform switch suits you.
