Not a bad idea-- let the folks who already know lots about making great software for Windows Mobile Professional handle the customized touch user interface for your new Windows Mobile Pro phone. Toshiba did just that with their G810, announced at Mobile World Congress in February of this year and now just hitting importer's shelves.
The Portege G810 runs Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional with Spb Mobile Shell-based Toshiba Touch Interface, a customized version of Spb Full Screen Keyboard, the Spb Pocket Plus smart scrolling component, and other Windows Mobile customization enhancements. According to Spb's press release "The strong combination of a powerful platform and functional hardware, complemented by a set of usability tools from Spb, make Toshiba's Portege G810 a very fast and intuitive smartphone."
The Toshiba Portege G810 is a pretty cool looking Windows Mobile touch screen phone that competes with the HTC Touch Diamond and Touch Cruise. Best of all, it's got worldwide HSDPA 3G (yes, that means 3G on AT&T). It an unlocked GSM world phone that will be offered by online importers.
We'll be posting a first look in a few days and a full review after that!
