Sprint today announced two new flip phones: the Motorola RAZR VE20 and the Sanyo Katana Eclipse.
Leaked info and images of the Motorola RAZR VE20 have hit the Net, and while some folks have lamented the less than top-of-the-line styling, the VE20 is in fact a decent phone. Yes, it isn't the sexiest RAZR to come out of Motorola, but it's not bad either, and the size can't be beat-- it's about the same size as the original RAZR from years ago, while cramming in a lot of additional features.
The RAZR VE20 features EVDO Rev. 0, a 2 megapixel camera, GPS that works with Sprint Navigation and a microSD card slot. Other features include Sprint TV, NFL Mobile and Sprint Music Store support.
* Dimensions: 2.0" x 3.9" x 0.6"; 3.5 oz * Internal Display: 2.2" 262K-color TFT (240 x 320 pixels) * External Display: 1.6" 65K-color CSTN (120 x 60 pixels) * Standard battery: Lithium ion battery provides up to approximately 4.0 hours of talk time
We've got the RAZR VE20 in-house, and it's actually a pretty good flip phone with Motorola's usual great reception and voice quality. Our review will follow in the coming days.
The latest addition to the never-ending Katana line is the Eclipse. Featuring 40 LED lighting effects on the front of the flip, the Katana is ready for the disco! It has an MP3 player and microSD card slot with SDHC high capacity card support, can access the Sprint music store and has external music controls on the flip. It's got a 1.3 megapixel camera. There's also Bluetooth stereo A2DP and a GPS that works with Sprint Navigation. The Katana has grown up.
* Dimensions: 3.6" x 1.9" x 0.7"; Weight: 3.4 oz. * Internal display: 2.0" 65K color TFT LCD (176x220); External display: 1.0" * Standard battery: Rechargeable lithium ion (LiIon) battery provides up to 4.6 hours continuous talk time.
