When I sync with outlook, it syncs dates memos etc but will not sync the Contacts any longer. It comes up 'Unable to get data from an Outlook or MS Exchange record.' Why does it fail to sync with just one part of Outlook. I am not on Exchange.

Hard to say why it fails with just one portion, but it's not all that rare a problem unfortunately. I'd try uninstalling then reinstalling the Clie desktop software.
