Phone News: Kogan Announces Agora with Android

Australian phone-maker Kogan has announced that they will release the Agora, the world's second cell phone based on Google's Android operating system, on January 29, 2009.



The Kogan Agora mobile phone is the first in Australia powered by Android(TM) software ? the ground-breaking new open source mobile phone operating system.

Featuring fast 3G wireless technology, multimedia capabilities, and a host of Internet applications, this is a must have mobile phone. The Kogan Agora is unlocked and will work on networks around the world, and is not restricted to customers in Australia and New Zealand.

Pre-installed software applications provide access to many services including GMail (TM), Google Calendar (TM), Google Maps (TM), Google Talk (TM), and a YouTube (TM) video player. The integrated Google Maps(TM) application supports detailed map, satellite, traffic, and the new street view.

The fully customisable home screen lets you put all the tools and gadgets you want at your finger tips.

With the Kogan Agora mobile phone, you will have the ability to download new software applications from third-party developers and further enhance your mobile experience.
