Microsoft MyPhone formally announced, here are the screen shots
      #32660 - 02/16/09 08:10 AM

After a slip-up where Microsoft's MyPhone made an early appearance last week, Microsoft is now ready to take the wraps off this new free online service for Windows Mobile devices. MyPhone is an online service where you can backup and sync your Windows Mobile phone. It will be a free service and you'll get 200 megs of storage. This isn't exactly a MobileMe or Google competitor, and certainly not an MS Exchange substitute. Rather it's geared toward everyday users who wish to back up their phone in case it's lost or stolen. Likewise it will make it easy to share content will others whom you grant access and to transfer content to a new Windows Mobile phone. For those of you who don't sync your phone to a PC, this is a great way to backup and add contacts, calendar and other info, and it makes it easy to get images taken with the camera off of the phone.

Microsoft describes it as: "This new Microsoft cloud service syncs critical information (e.g., contacts, calendar appointments, tasks, text messages, photos, video, etc) on a user?s mobile phone to a password protected Web site. Once synchronized, people can easily back-up and restore mobile phone data. My Phone provides an easy to use Web portal where people can access and manage content on the phone, and share that information with others. "

The web site's interface is clean and easy to understand and use. We've got a selection of screen shots below.

Sorry, it's not available yet. Currently MyPhone is at the invite-only beta stage. You can learn more at www.windowsmobile.com/myphone
