my screen on my ipaq rx3715 is distorted when on. i put pressure on the sides and sometimes it goes back to normal. Is it just getting old about 3 years or possibly a hard reset would correct? Any thought would be appreciated.

If putting pressure on the screen edges/sides corrects the problem it sounds like a hardware problem and not software, so I don't think a hard reset will fix the problem. Of course, it never hurts to back up the iPaQ and give it a try.
