NBA Digital announced today the launch of the new NBA Game Time mobile application for the T-Mobile G1 with Google. With the announcement, the NBA, through its jointly-managed NBA Digital portfolio with Turner Sports, becomes the first major sports league to develop an application for the Android Market, which is currently only available on the T-Mobile G1 sold by T-Mobile USA. More info on the new Android app:
The free application, available today and throughout the entire 2009 NBA Playoffs, can be accessed through the Android Market on the T-Mobile G1 and includes easy-to-navigate live game scores, stats and schedules. NBA Playoff brackets will also be featured through a free upgrade just before the start of the postseason.
?This application allows fans to get the most accurate, up-to-date information on their favorite team wherever they are and will form the base for continued mobile enhancements from NBA Digital,? said Bryan Perez, Senior Vice President and General Manager of NBA Digital. ?We are proud to be the first league to launch a sports application on the T-Mobile G-1 and this exemplifies our commitment to distribute content across all emerging technologies, be they television, internet or wireless.?
The NBA Game Time application has been designed with a simple interface for fans, focused on live at-a-glance information, including scores, stats, standings and national and local TV schedules.
