Elephantmen Comics Series Available for iPhone
      #33107 - 04/16/09 01:31 PM

The App Store has been overrun by a veritable stampede of Elephantmen, courtesy of UCLICK. The first seven issues of Richard Starkings and Comicraft's Elephantmen series are available now for download in Apple's App Store at $0.99 (US) cents each. Here is more info:

The seven issues comprise the first trade paperback volume of the hit series, entitled Elephantmen: Wounded Animals.

Elephantmen is an anthology series set in the distant future and starring human-animal hybrids created by the insidious MAPPO Corporation. The hybrids, nicknamed ?Elephantmen' for their monstrous appearances, have been freed from captivity to seek normal lives among the world's human population. The series has won acclaim from critics and fans alike for its exploration of human nature through colossal characters who are often the targets of paranoia and persecution.

Uclick has released over 100 comic book, graphic novel, manga and webcomic applications in the Apple App Store. Elephantmen joins a group of critically-acclaimed hit comic books that includes Jeff Smith's Bone, GODLAND from Joe Casey and Tom Scioli, Umbra from Murphy and Mike Hawthorne, Screamland by Harold Sipe and Hector Casanova, and Mark Sable and Paul Azaceta's Grounded. Uclick has also released apps featuring the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles series Tales of the TMNT and TMNT: Soul's Winter, a collection of Turtles stories by Sandman artist Michael Zulli.

Most of the iPhone Uclick apps are currently available at $.99 (US) cents each and feature tap-and-swipe, panel-by-panel controls. The Apple devices' large Multi-Touch displays enable a clear, high-resolution presentation. The zoom feature allows an even closer look at any panel.

To get Elephantmen and other favorite comic books, graphic novels and manga for the iPhone and iPod touch go to the new Uclick Web App by typing Uclick.com into the Safari browser or visit the App Store on the iPhone or on iTunes.
