Microsoft Confirms Windows 7 Will Be on Holiday Season PCs

Microsoft says today Windows 7 will go on sale Oct. 22, and will be available on new PCs hitting the stores this holiday shopping season. Windows 7 will replace the troubled Windows Vista Operating System and offer many ease-of-use and intuitive user interface that have many PC users excited. The new OS is in public beta stage and you can download the Windows 7 RC from here

This reminds me of a neat trick I discovered... with all the talk of how Windows 7 works well for netbooks (or at least better than Vista!), a lot of people have probably downloaded the release candidate ISO, only to realize that they can't make an installation DVD from the ISO because their netbook doesn't have an optical drive.

Here's a cool free program that can take ISOs like the Windows 7 one and directly create a bootable flash drive (or other USB drive) without ever having to actually burn the disc. (Note: Make sure your flash drive is large enough; Windows 7 needs at least 4 GB.)
