Research In Motion today sent out an update for its newly launched BlackBerry App World. Here is more info on the update:
At the end of the month, BlackBerry App World will launch in 10 additional countries -- Italy, France, Spain, Germany, Ireland, Austria, Luxemburg, Portugal, the Netherlands and Belgium ? and support more languages, including French, Italian, Spanish and German.
Current BlackBerry App World vendors will be able to submit localized applications for the regions and developers will now have the opportunity to reach audiences in 13 countries, with more on the way. An updated vendor portal will launch in the next couple of weeks (www.blackberry.com/isvportal).
Vendors will be able to incorporate some other new features into their applications, including placing hyperlinks on their web sites that, when launched from the BlackBerry Browser, will open their product page in BlackBerry App World.
Also, some new categories are on the way that will further segment applications on BlackBerry App World and make it easier for customers to find what they want. We will keep you updated when we get confirmed timing on the new categories, so stay tuned.
