Windows Marketplace is on schedule to open for submissions in 29 supported countries on July 27th, according to Todd Brix, the Senior Director for Mobile Platform Services Product Management at Microsoft. Windows Marketplace is Microsoft version of an app store. Microsoft had said earlier this year that Windows Marketplace will launch with Windows Mobile 6.5 in the fall. The good news announced by Mr. Brix is that by the end of 2009 Windows Marketplace will also be available to Windows Mobile 6.0 and 6.1 devices as well.
